Pacific Online Teaching Academy was founded on a simple idea: that great English teachers are made, not born. And that the training to become one shouldn't be a box-ticking exercise.
Our founders — a mix of veteran ELT tutors, curriculum designers, and former language school directors — were frustrated by the state of online TEFL training. Too many courses were essentially PDFs dressed up as qualifications. Too many graduates walked into their first classrooms unprepared.
So we built something different. A fully online academy, based in Sydney, delivering five levels of TEFL training that actually teach teaching. Every course is written by qualified ELT professionals. Every student gets personal feedback from a real tutor. Every graduate leaves ready for the classroom.
What we're about
We believe English teaching is one of the most mobile, rewarding careers a person can have. It pays the rent, takes you places, and changes lives — including your own.
Our job is to make sure you walk into your first lesson (or your fiftieth) knowing what you're doing. Not because you memorised a textbook — because we trained you properly.
Where we are
Our offices are at 200 George Street, Level 18, in Sydney's CBD. But our classrooms are wherever our students and graduates are — from Melbourne to Manila, Brisbane to Bangkok.
